Persephone's Garden -- Cultivating Healing through Body Work

Services Offered

Craniosacral Therapy
This gentle technique involves light pressure—only 5 grams— to guide bone and fascia back into alignment. This realignment affects the central nervous system, relieving tension and renewing balance among all the body's systems. Can be done over clothes.
Mechanical Link
This technique works on the principle that pain in the body is often caused by a dominant lesion. Treat that lesion, and many of the others melt. A gentle recoil is enough to trigger the body's own corrective action. It is a very useful adjunct to other work.
Anma
This 3800-year-old Japanese from of massage, the ancestor of shiatsu, uses kneading motions and no oil. Excellent for deep work and carpal tunnel relief. Can be done over clothes.
Guasha
This Asian technique involves a ceramic spoon pressed along particularly tight or resistant muscle areas to open up meridians, thereby releasing tension and freeing trapped energy. Used in conjunction with theraputic massage. Oil is used.
Swedish Massage
This is what people most commonly think of when they think of massage. Using oil and incorporating various long strokes over all major muscle groups, deep relaxation is the result.
Foot Care
Difficult-to-care-for feet are my specialty. Following a soothing foot soak, thick nails and calluses are trimmed and filed.
